I bought it for myself. Never expect to have a chance to buy this one since it's limited quantity in 2004.

This guitar was made 2004 celebrating 50 years of Fender being in business. Made in USA. 22 jumbo frets, gold plated hardware, locking tuners, S-1 switching and a gorgeous chunk of alder for the deeply contoured body. This is without a doubt a guitar loaded with amazing features and balanced with sensible design and three very musical sounding Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups. Fender/Schaller Deluxe Staggered Cast/Sealed Locking Tuning Machines.

Adamas II 1581-5 (The 30th Anniversary)

ในที่สุด ฝันผมก็เป็นจริงสำหรับ Adamas II
หลังจากหลงไหลและนั่งดู Adamas จากในรูปของ Catalog มานาน
วันนี้ผมได้สัมผัสและเป็นเจ้าของมันอย่างเป็นทางการเสียที
กับ Guitar ที่ใช้ Carbon Fiber สำหรับ Top surface.

ความจริง Adamas II 1581-5 30th Anniversary ตัวนี้ได้ถูกซื้อไว้ตั้งแต่ Feb 12, 2006 แล้วแต่กว่าจะเดินทางมาถึงมือผมก็ต้องรอจังหวะอยู่นานมาก
และในที่สุด ... เขาอยู่กับผมแล้วที่นี่

ไม่มีคำว่าผิดหวังครับ กับ Acoustic Guitar ที่ทันสมัยมากที่สุดสำหรับผม
ในขณะที่นักเล่นและนักสะสมส่วนมากจะต้องการ All solid acoustic guitar เพราะต้องการเสียงที่กังวาลออกมาจากเนื้อไม้ทั้งหมด Adamas กลับสวนทางกันอย่างสิ้นเชิง ด้วยการไม่ใช้ไม้ทั้งด้านหน้า, ด้านข้าง และ ด้านหลัง มีเพียงแค่ส่วนคอที่เป็นไม้เท่านั้นกับเหล็กดามคอที่ออกแบบมาโดยเฉพาะ 'Karman Bar'
ซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็น U-shape ทำจาก aluminum

Adamas เป็น Premium brand จาก Karman Studio ถูกผลิตขึ้นครั้งแรกในปี 1973 และ Adamas II ในปี 1982 . . . II หมายถึง generation ที่สองที่ตัดทอนรายละเอียดของการแกะสลักออกไปเพื่อให้ดูร่วมสมัยขึ้น
ปัจจุบัน Adamas I and II ได้เลิกสายการผลิตแล้ว เนื่องจาก Adamas ได้ถูกพัฒนาไปจนถึง generation ที่ 4 (SMT) และ 5 (CVT) ตามลำดับ

30 ปีต่อมา (ปี 2005) เพื่อเป็นการเฉลิมฉลองและให้เกียรติกับ Carlie Kaman
ทางบริษัทจึงจัดทำ 30th Anniversary model ขึ้น 4 รุ่น ในจำนวนจำกัด โดยในแต่ละรุ่นจะเป็นการย้อนกลับไปผลิต Adamas ให้เหมือนรุ่นเดิมมากที่สุด (reissue) โดยไม่มีการ redesign ใดๆทั้งสิ้น
นั่นทำให้ผม มีโอกาสที่จะได้เป็นเจ้าของ Adamas เหมือนคนอื่นๆบ้าง

จากการที่ได้พูดคุยกับ Ovation fan club ทั่วโลก ผมพบข้อสรุปว่า
Adamas 30th Anniversay นั้นจะได้รับการติดตั้ง preamp รุ่นที่ดีกว่าในรูปร่างหน้าตาที่เหมือนเดิม
ดังนั้น เสียงที่ออก amp จึงมีความนุ่มนวลและคมชัดกว่ารุ่น Original

จุดที่น่าสนใจอยู่ที่ว่า แม้ว่า Adamas จะถูกพัฒนาไปสักเพียงใด นักเล่นและนักสะสม Guitar กลับยกย่องและนิยมเก็บสะสม Adamas เพียงแค่ Adamas I and II เท่านั้น ซึ่งราคาค่าตัวของรุ่น Original ก็ถีบตัวสูงขึ้นไปมากจนน่าแปลกใจ ($1500 - $3000 สำหรับ used guitar)

สัมผัสแรกกับ 1581-5 ผมถึงกับต้องอึ้งไปหลังจาก first strum
อึ้งไปกับความเบาของ carbon และ resonant ที่ก้องกังวาลอย่างนุ่มนวล เหมือน grand piano ตามที่ catalog ได้เขียนไว้จริงๆเสียงที่นุ่ม ทุ้ม ลึก ไพเราะใน tone ที่แตกต่างจาก Solid guitar
และผมตกหลุมรักเขาในทันที

เมื่อเทียบกับ All solid acoustic guitar แล้ว Adamas จะให้เสียงที่ต่างไปอย่างชัดเจนทั้ง plug และ un-plug soundซึ่งตรงนี้คงขึ้นอยู่กับความชอบส่วนบุคคล ... สำหรับผม Adamas II เป็นงาน Master piece ที่ร่วมสมัยไม่ตกยุค ทั้งรูปร่างหน้าตาและน้ำเสียง
แน่นอน . . . ผมมีความสุขมากเช่นกัน

Eric Johnson Stratocaster

Finally I have own one, Eric Johnson Stratocaster.
Such a real beauty and lucky me to have it in my guitar collection.

Designed by Johnson himself with his own personal features and preferences, this signature model has a highly contoured two-piece alder body with a very thin nitrocellulous lacquer finish.
The one-piece quarter-sawn maple neck has a V-shaped profile, 12” fingerboard radius and 21 polished frets. The staggered vintage-style machine heads eliminate the need for a string tree, and the custom pickups are wound to Johnson’s specs.
Other features include a parchment ’57-style pickguard, four-spring vintage tremolo, silver-painted block and ’57-style string recess with no paint between the base plate and the block.

I love single coils.
I love maple neck.
I love quarter shawn.
I love vintage style.

Of course...I love Fender.

บองมาเช่

จับพลัดจับผลูมาเดินย่านขายของหรูปลอดภาษี
ผมไม่เคยมาที่นี่เนื่องด้วยระยะทางที่ไกลจากบ้าน และผมไม่ใช่นัก shop ตัวยง

ชื่อเรียกสุดเก๋ ฟังแปลกหู ไม่รู้ความหมาย สร้างความสนใจอย่างประหลาด
กอรปกับเพื่อนสถาปนิกกำลังมองหาพื้นที่สำหรับเช่าทำ office และชักชวนกันมาเช่าเพื่อทำมาหากิน
ผมจึงตัดสินใจมาที่นี่ ด้วยหลายต่อหลายเหตุผลที่ชวนให้มา
ผมมาถึงที่นี่ช่วงกลางวันหลังจากเสร็จภาระกิจที่กรมขนส่งในช่วงเช้า

สัมผัสแรกกับบองมาเช่. . .

ขอโทษ ! ร้อนจนหลอน
มันอาจเป็นข้อจำกัดส่วนตัวของผมเองที่ทนร้อนไม่ไหวจนความสนใจใคร่รู้ลดลงฉับพลัน
แสงแดดสะท้อนน้ำ ระยิบระยับ หลังคาสูง และลม
ที่พัดพาเอาความเย็นเหนือผิวน้ำเข้าสู่อาคาร ไม่สามารถดับความร้อนใดๆลงได้

สาบาน! ผมไม่ได้เรื่องมาก และวางแผนการสำรวจพื้นที่คร่าวๆมาบ้างแล้วทั้งในและนอกพื้นที่บองมาเช่
แต่อุณหภูมิขณะนั้นทำให้ผมต้องซุกมันไว้ในซอกหลืบหนึ่งของสมองแล้วเดินเข้าสู่พื้นที่อาหาร (food court) แทน

ผมพาลหงุดหงิดอย่างน่าทุเรศ
แล้วดับมันด้วยการ "กิน" หนึ่งในกิจกรรมยอดนิยมของคนไทย
ไม่ว่าจะนัดเจอเพื่อน นัดทำธุรกิจ ออกเดท หรือพบสหายโดยบังเอิญ
คนไทยจำนวนมากเลือกการกินเป็นกิจกรรมหลัก

ถึงเวลานี้ผมไม่รู้แล้วว่า บองมาเช่ ขายอะไรที่เขาว่ากันว่าดีและถูก
ผมรู้เพียงแค่ว่า ก๋วยจั๊บ น้ำข้นที่นั่น หอมอร่อยถูกปากและนุ่มลิ้น
พอคลายความเครียดจากความร้อนลงไปได้บ้าง

ความร้อนหยุดทุกอย่างในใจผมได้ชะงัก
ผมรู้สึกว่าประเทศไทยเรา ร้อนขึ้นทุกปี
แล้วผมก็ยอมเสียวันนี้ไปเพราะพ่ายแพ้ต่ออุณหภูมิของประเทศไทยที่ผมเริ่มจะไม่คุ้นเคยเอาเสียแล้ว

บองมาเช่ เป็นยังไง? . . . ผมไม่รู้
ผมรู้แค่ว่ามันร้อนบัดซบ และผมคงไปที่นั่นผิดเวลา
และรู้อีกนิดว่า กลิ่นเครื่องเทศอ่อนในน้ำข้น หมูต้มเนื้อนุ่ม และไข่ต้มสุกพอดีคำ ก็ทำให้การมาเยือนบองมาเช่ในวันนี้ไม่แย่ไปเสียทั้งหมด
